Flower Village Istanbul

The Flower Village project builds on the village’s strong green landscape, scenic views, and its economy rooted in the flower industry, located near the new Istanbul Airport. The design proposal aims to enhance local economic productivity while introducing a distinctive destination for Istanbul’s residents and visitors. The village is reimagined as a flower-centred touristic hub combining production, trade, cultural activities, and seasonal events. The intervention strengthens the existing infrastructure by upgrading two main road loops to host key public services and community functions. Two new public squares—the Mosque Square and the Muhtar Square—are introduced as civic landmarks and social gathering points. All existing and proposed public buildings are strategically clustered along these loops to reinforce walkability and identity. The inner loop connecting the two squares can be partially closed to traffic, enabling flower festivals and public events to animate the village core.
