USSOM Paediatric Hospital

Located in Idlib and forming the first phase of a larger specialized medical campus, this Women’s and Pediatric Hospital is conceived as a calm, legible, and humane healthcare environment serving North-West Syria. The building is designed as a compact vertical volume within a broader health complex, allowing future expansion while maintaining clear identity and orientation. Public functions are concentrated at the lower levels, creating an accessible and welcoming interface with the campus, while more private patient spaces are stacked above to ensure privacy, safety, and controlled movement. The internal organization prioritizes clarity of circulation, natural light, and visual calm to reduce stress for children, families, and staff. Architecturally, the hospital adopts a restrained and robust expression, balancing institutional clarity with warmth and human scale. As the cornerstone of the medical complex, the project establishes an architectural framework for integrated care, growth, and resilience.
